The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Rock Island County in northwestern Illinois...
  Southern Scott County in east central Iowa...
  Muscatine County in east central Iowa...

* Until 800 AM CDT

* At 144 AM CDT, Scott County Law Enforcement reported flash
  flooding in Davenport, with vehicles stalled in high water at a
  few intersections across the city. Observations and Doppler radar
  indicate 2 to 4 inches of rain has fallen across much of the
  warned area. More heavy rain producing thunderstorms will move
  across the area over the next couple of hours increasing the
  threat for additional flash flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Davenport, Moline, Rock Island, Bettendorf, Muscatine, East Moline,
  Durant, Silvis, Eldridge, Milan, Coal Valley, West Liberty, Wilton,
  Walcott, Blue Grass, Buffalo, Andalusia, Reynolds, Riverdale and
  Oak Grove.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 74 in Iowa between mile markers 1 and 5.
 Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 284 and 303.
 Interstate 74 in Illinois between mile markers 1 and 8.
 Interstate 280 between mile markers 1 and 18.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
