...SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL PERIOD EXPECTED FAVORING MOST OF THE AREA
TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT...

A back door cold front will push into northeast areas of the state
tonight and kick off a rather active thunderstorm and rainfall
period. Near record amounts of atmospheric moisture, combined
with other atmospheric dynamics, will help fuel heavy rainfall
rates within the shower and thunderstorm areas Wednesday night
through Friday night. The main heavy rainfall period is expected
Thursday into Thursday night favoring a large portion of northern
and central New Mexico. The Albuquerque and Santa Fe metro areas
are likely to be impacted. The main focus for the heavier
rainfall is expected to shift further west and north across the
state Friday into Friday night.

People should consider avoiding waterways and ditches during this
period. People should also plan additional travel time due to
periods of low visibility and ponding of water on area roadways.
