.DISCUSSION...

Warm and breezy conditions are again expected on Wednesday.
Temperatures will climb above normal, but so too will humidity
values. Southwest winds will peak as high as 15 to 20 mph this
afternoon. A few showers may move into the area after midnight and
into Thursday morning, however another warm and breezy day is
anticipated for Thursday.

A frontal boundary will arrive by Friday, likely lingering over
central South Dakota by morning. Ahead of this front, temperatures
will again climb well above normal, but humidity values are also
expected to rise. The frontal boundary moves through Friday night
with thunderstorms along the boundary. Once the front moves
through breezy northwest winds for Saturday with lingering rain
showers.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category
this afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses and other dry organic material on the
ground indicate that the probability of a fire occurrence is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions.

OUTLOOK FOR THURSDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index
will reach the low category.

The grassland fire danger product reflects fire danger for native
grasses. It is not intended for cured agricultural crops, nor
will it reflect conditions in road ditches which have been mowed.
