ANOTHER SCORCHER ACROSS THE SUNFLOWER STATE AS AFTERNOON HIGH
TEMPERATURES REACHED THE MID TO UPPER 90S. SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS WERE
BREEZY AT SPEEDS OF 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 25 MPH.

A COLD FRONT STRETCHING FROM SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA TO SOUTHWEST KANSAS
WILL BE THE SOURCE FOR DEVELOPING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS
EVENING AND TONIGHT. SOME OF THESE STORMS COULD BE STRONG TO SEVERE
WITH POTENTIALLY LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS MAINLY ACROSS EAST
CENTRAL KANSAS AND CENTRAL MISSOURI. PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR THE
ISSUANCE OF ANY WATCHES OR WARNINGS IF YOU ARE LOCATED IN THESE
LOCATIONS. OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL DROP TO AROUND 60 DEGREES FOR THE
HIGH PLAINS AND AROUND 70 DEGREES FOR NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST
KANSAS. OTHER AREAS OF THE PLAINS WILL HAVE LOWS IN THE LOW TO MID
70S. WINDS WILL SWITCH TO THE NORTH AS THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH WITH
SPEEDS ANTICIPATED TO BE 5 TO 15 MPH.

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS COULD LINGER INTO THE MORNING ACROSS MUCH
OF THE CENTRAL PLAINS...AND SHOULD DIMINISH GRADUALLY THROUGH THE
DAY. COOLER AIR BEHIND THE COLD FRONT WILL DROP AFTERNOON HIGH
TEMPERATURES TO THE UPPER 70S TO UPPER 80S. NORTHERLY WINDS WILL
HAVE SPEEDS OF 10 TO 25 MPH WITH POSSIBLE GUSTS TO 30 MPH
SPECIFICALLY ACROSS THE SOUTHERN HALF OF KANSAS.
