THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN ANGELO HAS ISSUED AN

* ARROYO AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  IRION COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL TEXAS...

* UNTIL 715 AM CDT

* AT 542 AM CDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED
  SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN OVER CENTRAL
  AND NORTHERN IRION COUNTY. THE SHOWERS AND STORMS WERE
  MOVING SLOWLY SOUTH AT 10 MPH.

* RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE HALF TO ONE INCH ARE EXPECTED
  WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS. HEAVY RAINFALL OCCURRED
  OVERNIGHT...AND THIS ADDITIONAL RAINFALL COULD LEAD TO
  FLOODING OF LOW-LYING AREAS AND ALONG PARTS OF SOME
  ROADWAYS...INLCUDING HIGHWAY 67 AND ARDEN ROAD.

* IMPACTS FROM THIS HEAVY RAINFALL WILL INCLUDE:
  FLOODING OF LOW LYING ROADS AND INTERSECTIONS.
  FLOODING OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS...AVOID THESE AREAS.
  RAPID RISE OF AREA CREEKS...STREAMS...AND ARROYOS.

* LOCATIONS IN THE ADVISORY INCLUDE...
  MERTZON...SHERWOOD...BARNHART...ARDEN...

* MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
  AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
  DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
  ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
  ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
