...Preliminary Information from Prentiss County Damage Survey...

The National Weather Service survey team found evidence of a
tornado in Prentiss County from the storm on April 22. Here is the
preliminary information:

Rating - EF1 (very localized/isolated areas of EF1 damage)
Maximum Wind - 90 mph
Path Length - Approx. 6 miles (very intermittent damage path)
Path - Approx. 3 miles east of Wheeler, MS to 1 mile west of New
Site, MS
Maximum Path Width - 200 yards
Average Path Width - 100 yards

Other wind damage was noted just south of Booneville and in the
Wheeler area.

The full report and details from the Prentiss and Tishomingo
County surveys will be finalized on Monday morning.
