.KEY MESSAGES...

* Our warming trend will continue through the first half of the
  week as high pressure builds into the region. By mid-week,
  Extreme Heat headlines may be needed for portions of the area.

&&

.DISCUSSION...through next week.

Ridging will continue to push into the area from the southeast,
allowing for dry conditions and our warming trend to continue
through the middle of the week. By Wednesday, HeatRisk will have
increased to Major (Level 3 of 4) for the Colorado River Valley
and the lower elevations of southern Mohave County. Over the past
48 hours we have seen temperatures and HeatRisk for Wednesday and
Thursday fluctuate, should the latest forecast hold steady,
Extreme Heat headlines will be issued for the aforementioned
portions of our forecast area within the next few iterations of
the forecast. A shortwave will move through the Great Basin around
mid-week, knocking temperatures down a degree or two from
Wednesday to Thursday. After the shortwave clears out of the area
on Thursday, ridging will rebound as we head into the weekend.
