...High Heat Indices are forecasted for this afternoon...

The combination of temperatures in the lower to mid 90s and
relative humidities in excess of 60 percent is expected across
parts of southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana this afternoon.
This will result in heat indices approaching 108 across a few
areas. Cloud cover and the potential development of showers and
thunderstorms is forecasted and this will likely result in the
highest indices near 105.

Residents are urged take the necessary precautions to protect
from the impacts of heat. Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks.
Never leave young children or pets in an enclosed vehicle...even
for a short time...as temperatures can quickly rise to life
threatening levels. Remember to look before you lock! Know the
signs of heat stress and seek medical attention if you suspect
that you or someone else is experiencing heat illness.
