Isolated Severe Thunderstorms in the South; Heat Building in the Plains and West

Isolated storms may produce hail or strong wind gusts over northeast New Mexico and southeast Colorado. Isolated damaging wind gusts are possible in the Southeast. There is an elevated fire weather threat in central New Mexico and Arizona along their border. Hot weather is expected across the Southern High Plains, Southwest, and Great Basin well into next week.
