Dangerous Heat Wave for the West; Severe Storms and Heavy Rain for Upper Midwest

A sweltering and long duration heat wave will build across the West this weekend through much of next week. Excessive heat warnings/watches along with heat advisories are in effect from the Southwest to the Northwest. Dangerous heat is also persisting across the southern Plains.
