016 FXUS64 KOHX 281111 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 611 AM CDT Tue May 28 2024 ...New AVIATION... .SHORT TERM... (Today through Friday) Issued at 127 AM CDT Tue May 28 2024 After 12 straight days of recording at least a trace of rain at my house, I am happy to be able to say, the rain gauge was dry yesterday. This is just the beginning of what looks to be a several day stretch of dry weather. Sorry, gardens and flowers. You`re going to have to rely on the hose instead of Mother Nature for water your this week. Other than some patchy fog around the mid-state, skies are clear this morning. If you`re near bodies of water for your morning commute after the holiday weekend, use caution as visibilities could drop quickly. Temperatures today, and really for the next several days will run right around normal for this time of the year: afternoon highs in the low 80s and upper 70s and morning lows in the 50s as general troughiness over the east half of the country keeps us feeling like spring instead of summer. && .LONG TERM... (Friday Night through next Tuesday) Issued at 127 AM CDT Tue May 28 2024 Unfortunately for you weekend warriors, rain chances will return to the forecast late Friday night. Periods of showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected to remain in the forecast through the weekend and into the middle of next week. Looking through forecast soundings, I don`t see anything that stands out in the way of severe weather, so that`s a positive, but models are pretty consistent across the board that we`ll be in for another stretch of active weather. If you like the warmer temperatures, a rebound back above normal is in the cards for next week. && .AVIATION...
