...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Temperatures up to 106 expected.

* WHERE...Chaves County Plains, including Roswell.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM MDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The hottest temperatures are expected during
  late afternoon, when skies will be mostly sunny. Intense
  ultraviolet radiation from the sun will make it very easy for
  people and animals to overheat and get a sunburn.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun or wear sunblock, and check up on relatives, neighbors, and
animals.

Always look before you lock to avoid forgetting a child or pet in a
broiling hot car.

* WHAT...Southeast winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
  possible.

* WHERE...Middle Rio Grande Valley including the Albuquerque Metro
  Area.

* WHEN...From Wednesday evening through late Wednesday night.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
  Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially
  for high profile vehicles.
