Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
509 AM EDT Thu Jun 20 2024

High pressure off the East Coast will continue to direct unusually
hot and humid air into the state through all of the weekend.

Expect temperatures to rise back into the upper 80s to mid 90s
across the Commonwealth today, with heat index values nearing 100
degrees. Scattered thunderstorms will pop up over the northern
tier, with the south remaining dry. A few storms may contain
damaging wind gusts and generate heavy rain.

The storms will diminish tonight, and fog may form, especially
where the rain fell. Lows will range from 65 to 70 with the urban
areas perhaps staying just above 70 degrees.

The heat and humidity will continue on Friday with more numerous
showers and storms expected to cover a greater portion of the
Commonwealth versus Thursday. Storms are possible as far south as
the Turnpike. The heat and humidity will combine to push the heat
index just over 100 degrees in the central valleys, and in the 90s
elsewhere.

Saturday looks even more uncomfortable with slightly higher heat
index values and more showers and thunderstorms.
