If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...Good afternoon! The ridge of high pressure north of the area will continue to gradually weaken. A weak tropical low along the Southeast Georgia coast is forecast to drift slowly north- northeast and dissipate on Sunday. Increased atmospheric moisture will continue to advance northwest across the state on the west side of the low. Rain chances are forecast to remain below 10 percent through Sunday as better chances for showers and thunderstorms associated with the weakening tropical feature remain well southeast of the area. However, the increasing low-level moisture, in concert with slowly rising temperatures through the weekend, will lead to increasing heat indices. Maximum heat indices are forecast to reach around 97 Sunday afternoon. Rain chances will begin to increase late Sunday night, as a weak approaching front interacts will residual tropical moisture. Winds will be generally light out of the east through this evening with gusts to around 10 mph. Winds will become west of Sunday, but speeds are expected to remain light, with gusts to 10 mph during the afternoon.
