...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1997, severe thunderstorm winds blew out windows, uprooted
trees, and knocked down signs and antennas in Dresden Kansas in
Decatur County. At least 4 roofs were blown off homes and a storage
building and a mobile home were destroyed. A leg on a grain
elevator was bent. At Leoville, a spotter estimated 60 mph winds.

In 2007, golfball sized hail cracked the windshield of a car south
of Burlington Colorado,  while hail up to two and a half inches in
diameter was reported southeast of Atwood Kansas.
