...New AVIATION...

.NEAR TERM...
(Today)
Issued at 311 AM CDT Tue May 28 2024

Clear skies and light, variable winds will allow patchy to dense
fog formation throughout the Tennessee Valley this morning. If
this fog becomes dense and widespread in nature, a Dense Fog
Advisory may be needed. Any fog that forms will dissipate by the
mid morning hours after sunrise.

This afternoon, sfc high pressure from the Mississippi Valley will
allow dry weather to remain in place with mostly sunny skies. High
temperatures are forecast to reach the low to mid 80s with
northwesterly winds around 5-10 mph, occasionally gusting to 15
mph.

.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Friday)
Issued at 311 AM CDT Tue May 28 2024

Upper level ridging will allow mostly dry weather (less than 10%
chances of rain) to continue through the end of the work week.
During this time, highs are forecast to be in the upper 70s to mid
80s with overnight lows in the 50s/60s. Skies are forecast to
remain mostly sunny with the exception of some cloud cover on
Wednesday into Thursday as a result of increased positive
vorticity advection to our southwest. This may allow some showers
to sneak into our southern counties, however, confidence in this
is too low to increase PoPs above 10%.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Friday night through Monday)
Issued at 311 AM CDT Tue May 28 2024

Upper level ridging moves over the Tennessee Valley and continues
eastward Friday before a shortwave trough begins to influence the
area from the west. This will bring increased rain chances (30%
or less) that evening. Medium shower/storm chances (30-50%) stay
in place through the weekend with any storms that forms capable of
producing lightning, gusty winds, and small hail. High
temperatures are forecast to reach the low to mid 80s with
overnight lows in the upper 50s to mid 60s.
