...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NEW HANOVER...SOUTHERN PENDER AND
NORTHEASTERN BRUNSWICK COUNTIES THROUGH 430 PM EDT...

At 358 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Cape Fear Community College North Campus, or 7
miles north of Wilmington, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Wilmington, Leland, Surf City, Rich Inlet, Figure Eight Island,
Hampstead, Northwest, Topsail Beach, Bishop, Hightsville, Cape Fear
Community College North Campus, Ashton, Wilmington International
Airport, Rocky Point, Murrayville, Castle Hayne, University Of North
Carolina At Wilmington, Phoenix, Scotts Hill, and Ogden.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 40 between mile markers 405 and 416.
 Interstate 140 between mile markers 15 and 20.
 US Route 17 in Brunswick County between mile markers 33 and 44.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
