tomorrow, but most area will remain dry.

.SHORT TERM...(This evening through Wednesday night)
Issued at 354 PM EDT TUE MAY 28 2024

Scattered to broken cumulus will continue to cross the region into
the early evening with an expected decrease in coverage. May still
get a few showers and possibly a thunderstorm during the remaining
daylight hours.

A series of short waves will drop southeast out of the Great Lakes
and brush by the region. These will bring some clouds as well as a
chance of showers and possibly thunderstorms, mainly to northern
counties, with most activity remaining north of the area.

Heading into Wednesday night, it will clear out as high pressure
starts to build further into the region.

Temperatures will be a bit below normal.

&&

.LONG TERM...(Thursday through Tuesday)
Issued at 354 PM EDT TUE MAY 28 2024

Mid level flow will become highly amplified with a sharp ridge
translating east across the region through the latter part of the
week. This will result in dry conditions with not much in the way
of clouds. Should see pretty good diurnal ranges in temperatures
with areas falling into the 40s at night.

Once the ridge moves off to the east, a more zonal pattern will
ensue with a series of short waves tracking through the flow.
Expect to see showers and thunderstorms pass across the area with
the initial system Saturday night into Sunday. There may be
additional showers and thunderstorms both Monday and Tuesday,
although detail concerning timing is a bit murky as usually occurs
further out in time. Temperatures will warm up with highs pushing
into the lower to mid 80s.

.AVIATION...(For the 18Z TAFS through 18Z Wednesday afternoon)
ISSUED AT 148 PM EDT TUE MAY 28 2024

A good deal of cumulus has developed across the region. Expect
this to continue through the daylight hours. There could be a
passing shower, but the probability of that occurring at any
particular terminal is too low to include in the TAFs.

Cumulus should diminish after 00Z, although there are some
indications that at least a few clouds could linger well into the
night. At this point, do not expect this to hinder valley fog
development. So have IFR/LIFR redeveloping at KLOZ and KSME.
Conditions will improve quickly after 12Z with only a few clouds
during the latter part of the TAF period.
