.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 237 PM EDT Sun May 26 2024

Beautiful SUNday here, with GOES-16 visible satellite showing a
cloud- free island chain! Temperatures throughout the Florida Keys
are in the upper 80s and winds are southeast to south at 5 to 10
knots along the reef. KEY 12z RAOB this morning revealed very
little moisture in the profile which is why any cloud that tries
to form has a hard time. A coastal flood statement is now in
effect for the Middle and Lower Keys for minor saltwater flooding
through tonight.

As the ridge continues to dominate the Gulf of Mexico we will get
to keep on enjoying our low rain chances and light winds. Later
in the week as the ridge starts to break down and move away, and
moisture starts to return, PoPs will start to increase to 20%
(Friday through Sunday) and slight thunder chances will be
introduced. No big changes are being introduced from previous
forecast cycles but things will continue to be monitored.

.MARINE...
Issued at 237 PM EDT Sun May 26 2024

There are no watches, warnings, or advisories in effect for the
Florida Keys coastal waters. From synopsis, light to gentle
breezes generally out of the southeast to south will continue
through tonight, and will periodically become variable in
direction due to the light nature and effects of daytime heating.
High pressure will gradually shift east through Monday. This will
allow for breezes to modestly surge during the overnights tonight
and Monday and lull each afternoon. As this high slides further
east on Tuesday, breezes will slacken and will go light and
variable at times. Freshening breezes will return by the end of
the week.

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 237 PM EDT Sun May 26 2024

VFR conditions will prevail at both island terminals through the TAF
period. Nil rain chances overnight will only uptick to slight
levels after sunrise on Monday. Surface winds will be light and
variable at times, although generally from the southeast at 5 to 10
knots.
