.UPDATE...
Issued at 506 AM CDT Sat Sep 14 2024

closely as the dense fog has a chance to expand a little to the
north and west before sunrise.

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Monday night)
Issued at 318 AM CDT Sat Sep 14 2024

a weak surface boundary or dewpoint delineation is noted across
the forecast area with upper 60s to near 70F over central
Louisiana and upper southeast Texas, with mid to upper 70s dew
points along the I-10 corridor. Some patchy fog is noted along and
south of the boundary.

The patchy fog will lift with daytime heating by mid morning.
Then, northwest flow will be noted aloft today bringing a weak
upper level disturbance down late in the day. This disturbance
will ridge along the surface boundary to help produce a few
showers and thunderstorms in the mid to late afternoon that will
linger into the evening hours.

On Sunday, the surface boundary will hang around near the coast
and the interaction with the surface boundary, sea breeze, and any
disturbance moving down in the northwest flow will again allow for
a few showers and thunderstorms during the mid to late afternoon.

On Monday, a low pressure center is expected to be nearing the
South/North Carolina coasts. The northeast flow will help push
remnant high moisture and mid level circulation over the
Tennessee Valley to the southwest, and this will allow for showers
and thunderstorms that develop over Mississippi to push into the
forecast area during the afternoon into evening.

remainder of the week. Rather benign conditions will then follow
with very little if any chance for showers and near normal
temperatures.

.MARINE...
Issued at 318 AM CDT Sat Sep 14 2024
