(Tonight through Wednesday night)

Wx map shows weak surface high pressure ridge across the Eastern
U.S. with southeast winds continuing over the Northern Gulf of
Mexico, Louisiana and Southeast Texas. Visible satellite imagery
shows scattered cumulus across our region. Radar shows no precipitation.
Afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90 expected to
rise a couple more degrees. For tonight, expect low level increasing
cloudiness that is typical for this time of year. Winds expected
to stay elevated over the I-10 corridor southward, but likely to
fall to 5 mph or calm further north. Due to the cloud cover,
slightly higher winds, and the shorter nights, fog becoming less
likely. Probably the most expected is patchy fog near daybreak and
will quickly dissipate once the sun rises. Lows in the upper 60s
to lower 70s.

For Tuesday through Wednesday night, the mid to upper level ridge
over Northern Mexico/South Texas/Western Gulf of Mexico expected
to ridge further east northeastward. This will keep all precipitation
well north of the region, with none expected here. Expect above
normal temperatures with highs Tuesday and Wednesday in the upper
80s to lower 90s, and lows Wednesday in the lower to mid 70s.

(Thursday through next Sunday)

Above normal temperatures and little if any precipitation is
expected through Memorial Day weekend as the mid to upper level
ridge presides over the Northern Gulf of Mexico, keeping most of
the moisture and lift north of the region. However, humid
southeast winds will prevail. Temperatures will remain above
normal. Overnight lows expected lower to mid 70s north of I-10,
mid to upper 70s further south. Afternoon highs in the lower to
mid 90s north of I-10, near 90/lower 90s further south. Maximum heat
index values expected to rise to 100-105 degree range over
Memorial Day weekend.

SCT high clouds will continue to work into the region from the
west while SCT-BKN low clouds form over the NW Gulf and spread
inland across SE TX. MVFR cigs are likely at BPT overnight, while
patchy light fog may develop where skies remain clear, reducing
visibilities to MVFR at lowest. Any fog that develops will
dissipate by 14Z with VFR conditions to prevail thereafter.
Southerly winds will increase to between 10-15 knots by late
morning as an area of low pressure moves northeast across the
central plains. Winds will remain elevated through the afternoon
before diminishing around sunset.

Southeast flow is expected to prevail through the period. Winds
and seas are forecast to increase by Tuesday due to the pressure
gradient increasing between surface high pressure to the east and
low pressure across the Plains. All near climatology for this time
of year.
