.SYNOPSIS...High Pressure in control over the great basin will
keep quiet conditions, light to breezy winds, and slowly warming
temperatures in place through the weekend.

&&

.SHORT TERM...Today and Thursday

High Pressure continues to dominate over the state leading to
quiet weather, warming temperatures, nearly clear skies all under
SW flow aloft. A weak short wave trough is passing through the
westerly flow to our north will act to strengthen the pressure
gradient this afternoon which will lift winds out of the SW at 10
MPH to 20 MPH with a few gusts up to 30 MPH possible. The Gradient
will relax as the trough push east Thursday allowing the winds to
drop back to 5 MPH to 15 MPH with gusts up to 25 MPH. Otherwise
dry conditions will continue, with Highs in the low 80s to low 90s
and lows dropping into the mid 40s to upper 50s.

.LONG TERM...Friday through next Wednesday

Strong upper-level ridge building to our east will remain in
place through the weekend, flanked by a weak upper-level trough
off the California coast. The trough to the west will form a
cutoff low, which will bring a warm, dry southwesterly flow for
our CWA this weekend. As a result, highs on Friday and Saturday
will be in the upper 80s, reaching the lower 90s in lower
elevations. On Monday, the high pressure over the four corners
will expand over the southwest US, NV, and CA. The low will remain
off the CA coast through Wednesday. Highs from Monday to
Wednesday will be in the low to mid 80s in the lower elevation
areas, and the upper 60s to lower 70s in higher elevations.

.AVIATION...VFR conditions forecast at all terminal forecast
sites for at least the next 24 hours. Winds increase this
afternoon with S-SW winds at 10KT to 20KT with gusts up to 30KT

15KT with gusts to 25 KT.

.FIRE WEATHER...High pressure in control for the week as dry
conditions, warming temperatures with highs in the low 80s to low
90s, and light to breezy W to SW winds continue. Breezy SW winds
will be possible this afternoon as a quick moving trough passes to
our north. This will increase the winds a bit out of the SW at 10
MPH to 20 MPH with gusts up to 35 MPH possible. This low will move
east allowing for wind speeds to return to 5 MPH to 15 MPH with
the occasional gust to 25 MPH for Thursday through Sunday.
