329 FXUS64 KOHX 110637 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 137 AM CDT Tue Jun 11 2024 ...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM... .SHORT TERM... (Today through Wednesday) Issued at 136 AM CDT Tue Jun 11 2024 Upper level ridge will build in today and that is going to bring some great weather. Current dew points are in the low to mid 50s and will remain comfortable today. With the drier air we will see less fog this morning compared to yesterday but still could see some patchy fog in fog prone areas. Highs today will reach the mid 70s to around 80. A short wave will push out of TX later in the day into Wednesday. This short wave won`t impact our weather much but will bring some high level clouds in the evening into tomorrow. Highs on Wednesday will be slightly warming pushing into the mid 80s. && .LONG TERM... (Wednesday Night through next Tuesday) Issued at 136 AM CDT Tue Jun 11 2024 A strong four corners ridge of high pressure will start to push east late in the week into the weekend. This will bring a big warm up for Middle TN with highs pushing to around 90 on Thursday and warming above 90 Friday into the weekend. Humidity will increase some with dew points pushing back into the 60s. The APEX of the ridge will be overhead on Sunday and that will likely be the peak of heat in the forecast with highs pushing into the mid to upper 90s and heat indices above 100. Surface high pressure will slowly push off to our east later Sunday into early next week bringing southerly flow. This will push more humidity into the region with dew points pushing into the 70s and increased instability. We won`t see much in the way of forcing to kick anything off but it does look like we could see a few popup storms in the afternoon Monday and Tuesday. Strong upper level ridge looks to remain over the area throughout the week next week keeping the warm weather in place with highs in the 90s. && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1206 AM CDT Tue Jun 11 2024 VFR conditions through the TAF period. Winds will be light out of the north. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
