Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
214 PM MDT Wed Jun 12 2024

.Discussion...

It is going to be hot and dry tomorrow, although winds will be
relatively light across the district. Temperatures will be 10
to 20 degrees above normal. An isolated thunderstorm may occur
tomorrow evening across the far eastern plains.

Later tomorrow evening, a cool front will come down across the
plains and this will bring increasing low level moisture to the
region for Friday. Likewise, there will be a good chance of
wetting thunderstorm rains over a good part of the district on
Friday. It will be 10 to 15 degrees cooler on Friday as compared
to Thursday.

Saturday temperatures will start to warm up once again with a
chance of some storms over the district, especially over the
far southeast plains.

For Sunday and Monday, temperatures will continue to warm up and
20 foot winds will be on the increase all areas. Meteorological
conditions will be favorable for extreme fire behavior on both of
these days, but fuels are not conducive for fire growth.

Smoke dispersion will be very good or better Thursday afternoon
and Friday afternoon.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
