.SYNOPSIS...
A nearly stationary trough of low pressure off the coast of Southern
California will bring mostly cloudy and cool weather to the coastal
areas through next week. The clouds will clear in most valleys each
afternoon. Skies over the mountains and deserts will be generally
clear.

.DISCUSSION...FOR EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA INCLUDING ORANGE...
SAN DIEGO...WESTERN RIVERSIDE AND SOUTHWESTERN SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTIES...

A trough of low pressure deepening down the California coast this
weekend will bring minor cooling to the mountains and deserts. The
trough will also keep a deep marine in place west of the mountains.
A Catalina Eddy over the coastal waters will likely keep skies
mostly cloudy near coast all weekend with patchy late night and
morning drizzle. Highs will be 62-66 degrees at the beaches and 67-
69 a few miles inland. Farther inland the low clouds will clear from
the valleys each afternoon and highs will range from 70-79 degrees
in the western valleys to 80-88 in the eastern valleys.

The mountains and deserts will be mostly clear this weekend with
high clouds at times. Mountain highs from 70-80 this weekend will
trend warmer early next week and increase to 75-85 next Tuesday and
Wednesday. Likewise, high desert highs near 90 this weekend will
heat up to near 100 Tuesday and Wednesday. Lower desert highs of 100-
105 this weekend will heat up to 105-110 Tuesday and Wednesday.

Gusty winds will impact the mountains and deserts each afternoon and
evening this weekend with gusts from 30-40 mph in the northern
Coachella Valley and below the San Gorgonio Pass.

.AVIATION...
081030Z...Coast/Valleys...Low clouds with bases 1000-1500 ft MSL and
tops to 2000 ft MSL will cover most areas until clearing 15Z-18Z in
the valleys and partial clearing 18Z-21Z near the coast, with most
locations within 5 miles of the coast remaining BKN/OVC through this
afternoon. Local VIS 2-5 miles will occur in the valleys through
17Z. Low clouds will spread through most coastal areas by 05Z Sun
and most valleys by 10Z Sun with similar or slightly higher bases
and similar clearing times Sun morning. Areas of terrain will be
obscured at times.

Mountains/Deserts...FEW-SCT250 and unrestricted VIS will continue
through Sun morning.
