.DISCUSSION...An area of low pressure will track through southern Utah
today and then move off into Colorado by Sunday. Just enough moisture
associated with this low will make it up into northern Utah to support
afternoon cumulus buildups, along with isolated showers. There is about
a 15% chance for an isolated thunderstorm as well, mainly after 1300 or
1400 this afternoon. This will diminish early Saturday evening. Expect
additional cumulus buildup Sunday afternoon as well, with a very low
(less than 15% chance) of an isolated afternoon shower. Dry northwest
flow will build into the area through Tuesday, followed by a ridge of
high pressure for midweek. Troughs will try and graze the area by
next weekend, but at this point we don`t see any signficiant cold fronts
or precipitation producers in the Monday-Friday timeframe. Look for
seasonable temperatures early in the week warming to 5F to 15F above
normal by late in the week. Good overnight RH recovery will persist
into midweek with slight drying by late in the week, when daily min
RH will drop into the low 20 percent range while overnight RH drops
in the 70 percent range.
