...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(The rest of tonight)
Issued at 927 PM CDT Mon Jun 10 2024

Southwest periphery of the surface ridge axis remains over
the forecast area this evening. Weak upper wave moving through TX
generating mid and high clouds across E OK and NW AR with
relatively dry air in place. Forecast overnight low temperatures
look good and are in line with the latest observations, and
remaining first period elements look good as well. Therefore, no
update is planned at this time.

.LONG TERM...
(Tomorrow through Monday)
Issued at 215 PM CDT Mon Jun 10 2024

The next several days will feature only minimal rain chances. A
weak mid level low presently located over eastern NM is forecast
to drop southeast over the next couple of days, with influence
limited to some mid and high clouds as precip chances remain
focused to our southwest. By mid week the surface high will shift
east as ridging aloft strengthens over our region, with
temperatures and humidity responding accordingly. Another weak
wave will slide across the northwest side of the ridge by the
weekend, but impacts likely to remain north and west. Next chance
of showers and thunderstorms looks to be at the end of this
forecast period as weak wave lifts out of the Gulf of Mexico
early next week.
