Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tulsa OK
1042 AM CDT Thu Jun 6 2024

...New SHORT TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(The rest of today )
Issued at 1036 AM CDT Thu Jun 6 2024

A weak upper level feature is spreading clouds into northeast OK
and northwest AR. A line of showers and thunderstorms across
southwest Missouri could clip the far northeastern tip of the
forecast area (in northwest AR) early this afternoon, but
otherwise dry weather is anticipated through the afternoon. Highs
will be warm in the upper 80s to 90s. Pops were cut back through
00z on account of recent CAM trends backing away from storm
chances this afternoon. There is still a slight (10-20%) chance
for an isolated pop up shower or thunderstorm this evening in
northeast OK but any impacts would be minimal.

.LONG TERM...
(Tonight through Wednesday)
Issued at 351 AM CDT Thu Jun 6 2024

MCS potential will increase across mainly northern parts of the
area Friday night and early Saturday, and area wide Saturday night
and Sunday. A cold front will also sag south into the area Sunday,
but there is some question on just how far south this boundary
will go. As a result, low rain chances will continue Sunday night
into early Monday in the southern and western parts of the
forecast area.

An upper level wave looks to bring another chance of showers and
storms Tuesday into Tuesday night, with upper ridging beginning to
take hold after that time.

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 601 AM CDT Thu Jun 6 2024

VFR conditions will prevail. We`ll see an increase in mid (~10kft)
cloud, especially close to the KS/MO borders later on today and
into tonight. A few spotty showers are also possible for the TAF
sites close to the KS/MO borders, especially aft 00Z this evening.
