.SYNOPSIS...Temperatures will continue to increase each day
through the end of the week as an upper-level ridge sets up over
the region. This ridge will allow for the persistence of dry
conditions into next week.

&&

.SHORT TERM...through Thursday.

Temperatures will continue to warm each day as an upper-level ridge
sets up over the region. A shortwave trough will move through the
Great Basin on Wednesday, bringing a slight uptick in southerly
winds across the area. These winds will be sub-advisory and of
minimal impact. Warming will continue on Thursday as we head into
the second half of the week as the ridge remains positioned over the
Desert Southwest.

.LONG TERM...Friday through Monday.

Unseasonably warm temperatures continue through the weekend as high
pressure stays in place over the southwest United States. Afternoon
high temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees above average for this time
of year. The probability of reaching 100 degrees in Las Vegas
increases from 63 percent on Friday to 75 percent on Saturday. On
Friday and Saturday, most desert valleys will be in the Moderate
(Level 2) HeatRisk with some Major (Level 3) to Extreme (Level 4)
in Death Valley and the Colorado River Valley. Temperatures should
begin to go down early next week as a trough moves east and
heights aloft start to fall.
