(18Z TAFS) Issued at 1257 PM CDT Sat Jun 15 2024 VFR conditions are expected through Sunday morning. Scattered cumulus fields will develop over the region this afternoon with bases between 4-8 ft AGL. Ceilings remain VFR but may become broken near the coast by Sunday morning with potential for at least scattered SHRA/TSRA to also approach coastal areas between 14-18Z. Very localized MVFR ceilings and visibility restrictions will be possible in and near convection. Winds will become southeasterly to southerly between 5-10 knots over much of the region this afternoon before becoming light this evening and overnight. Southeasterly winds increase to around 10 knots Sunday morning. /21

Issued at 1257 PM CDT Sat Jun 15 2024 Upper level ridging will continue to extend across the region this afternoon. Dry weather conditions and hot temperatures will persist through the afternoon underneath this feature. High temperatures are on track to range between 95-99 degrees over interior areas along and north of the I-10 corridor and from around 90 degrees to the lower 90s along the coast. Factoring in the humidity, we expect maximum heat indices to top out between 99-104 degrees across the forecast area. /21
