076 FNAK53 PAFG 251343 FWFAFG Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Interior Alaska National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 543 AM AKDT Tue Jun 25 2024 .DISCUSSION... Today, temperatures will be near or slightly higher than yesterday but min RHs will be around 5-10% higher than yesterday. The risk for wet afternoon thunderstorms is slightly higher also with widely scattered storms expected from Chicken to Eagle west to Livengood and southwest to Minchumina. Temperatures continue rising tomorrow with highs in the mid to upper 80s across much of the Interior and min RHs around 20-25%. Isolated thunderstorms will be around but the main area of concern will be the Southeast Interior where dry thunderstorms are looking more prominent. Thursday is also looking like a banner day for thunderstorms as scattered storms are expected over much of the Interior through the afternoon and into the evening. This may end up being the largest lightning day of the year so far. As if this wasn`t enough, there is also a chance for near Red Flag conditions in the northern Interior on Thursday from Allakaket east to the AlCan Border.
