At 556 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Grafton, or 7 miles southwest of Hoosick Falls, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Bennington, Hoosick Falls, Pownal, Grafton, Stamford, Brunswick, Hoosick, Pittstown, North Bennington, Valley Falls, Woodford, Old Bennington, Hoosick Junction, Paper Mill Village, Petersburg Junction, Quackenkill, East Hoosick, Babcock Lake, Johnsonville, and Tamarack. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.
