...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Narragansett Bay...
  Rhode Island Sound...

At 514 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from Providence to near South
Kingstown, moving southeast at 20 knots.

Locations impacted include...
Dutch Harbor Light, Sakonnet Point Light, Mount Hope Bay, Castle Hill
Light, Narragansett Bay, Quonset Point, Melville, Greenwich Bay,
Popasquash Point, Warwick Light, Bristol Harbor, Plum Beach Light,
Conimicut Light, and Sachuest Point.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Expect gusty winds to around 30 knots...briefly rough seas and
lightning strikes. Consider heading for safe harbor until these
storms pass.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
