Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
441 AM EDT Thu Jun 20 2024

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure will keep the forecast dry through early Friday.
Moisture returning to the area will bring isolated to scattered
showers and thunderstorms mainly south of I-20 Friday and Saturday.
Better convective coverage is expected Sunday into the middle of
next week as deeper moisture remains in place. Outside of showers
and storms, 20-ft winds will continue to be out of the east through
Friday, gusty at times during the afternoon hours of peak heating.
Winds then gradually become more southerly over the weekend and
southwesterly by Monday.

Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog is possible mainly near
area lakes and rivers.
