Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
120 PM EDT Thu Jun 13 2024

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure controls the region into Saturday, then a weak
cold front will push into the area. Moisture will remain limited
through Saturday, and this will keep dry conditions over the area.
Some moisture return possible on Sunday, and this will only help
to produce an isolated shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon.
Isolated rainfall remains possible each afternoon even next week.

Temperatures remain the main concern with afternoon highs on Friday
and Saturday in the mid to upper 90s. Heat index values reach into
the upper 90s to low 100s. Although temperatures area expected to
fall a few degrees for Sunday into next week, afternoon highs will
remain in the low to mid 90s.

Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog is possible tonight mainly
near area lakes and rivers.
