...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT WESTERN DAWES COUNTY THROUGH 645
PM MDT...

At 619 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms 8 miles southeast of Crawford, or 23 miles southwest of
Chadron, moving north at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Chadron, Crawford, Whitney, Chadron Municipal Airport, Roberts
Trailhead Campground, Whitney Lake, Chadron State Park, Fort Robinson
State Park, and Belmont.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT for
the Panhandle of Nebraska.
