...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Iowa...

  West Fork Des Moines River at Humboldt affecting Humboldt County.

.The river forecast for the West Fork Des Moines River at Humboldt
has been adjusted upward and now record flooding is expected. The
new forecast crest would be higher than any crests ever recorded at
Humboldt. The upward adjustment is due to changes in forecast
rainfall amounts and timing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For the latest river and stream observations and forecasts refer to
weather.gov/desmoines/water.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

River forecasts include observed precipitation plus forecast
precipitation through Sunday morning.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT UNTIL FURTHER
NOTICE...

* WHAT...Record flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The West Fork Des Moines River at Humboldt, or from Joe
  Reasoner Dam to the East Fork Des Moines River.

* WHEN...From late tonight until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 14.5 feet, Water affects houses along W River Dr.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 3:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 9.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late tonight and continue rising to a crest of 16.0 feet
    Wednesday morning. This crest would be higher than any crests
    ever recorded at Humboldt. The current record crest is 15.4
    ft set in April 1969. It will also be higher than the 1993
    crest which was 15.2 ft and occurred in July of that year.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
