...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Whiteside,
southeastern Rock Island, northern Henry, Scott, Clinton,
northeastern Muscatine and eastern Cedar Counties through 500 PM
CDT...

At 406 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Tipton to near Geneseo. Movement was
northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Strong winds could break small tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Davenport, Moline, Rock Island, Bettendorf, Clinton, Muscatine, East
Moline, Sterling, Morrison, Durant, Silvis, Geneseo, Eldridge,
DeWitt, Milan, Colona, Camanche, Le Claire, Coal Valley, and Fulton.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 74 in Iowa between mile markers 1 and 5.
 Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 268 and 306.
 Interstate 80 in Illinois between mile markers 1 and 10.
 Interstate 74 in Illinois between mile markers 1 and 12.
 Interstate 88 between mile markers 1 and 38.
 Interstate 280 between mile markers 1 and 18.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
