...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN DOLORES...
NORTHWESTERN MONTEZUMA AND EAST CENTRAL SAN JUAN COUNTIES THROUGH 600
PM MDT...

At 529 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 15
miles east of White Mesa, or 18 miles southeast of Blanding, moving
northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation and
         outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Hovenweep National Monument.

This includes U.S. Highway 491 in Colorado near mile marker 47.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM MDT for
southwestern Colorado...and southeastern Utah.
