...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL SAN JUAN AND
SOUTHERN GRAND COUNTIES THROUGH 545 PM MDT...

At 522 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 26 miles north of Castle Valley to 6 miles
northwest of Canyonlands National Park. Movement was east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Moab, Castle Valley, Spanish Valley, Arches National Park, Cisco, and
Dead Horse Point State Park.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 in Utah between mile markers 176 and 214.
 U.S. Highway 191 in Utah between mile markers 108 and 157.
 Utah 128 between mile markers 0 and 44.
 Utah 279 between mile markers 0 and 15.
 Utah 313 between mile markers 0 and 22.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
these storms pass.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM MDT for
west central Colorado...and southeastern and east central Utah.
