Through 600 pm, clusters of surging thunderstorms will continue to
press north at 20 knots into the Straits of Florida, tending to the
north-northeast across our eastern half. A narrow confluent band
originating near the east end of Vaca Key will try to consolidate
over Florida Bay and the adjacent coastal waters north of the Upper
Keys. The strongest storms will be capable of localized wind gusts
near 35 knots, blinding downpours, and bouts of frequent lightning.
