Through 630 pm, isolated showers will wax and wane as they track
slowly eastward at 5 mph, across the island chain from Geiger Key to
Layton, as well as the surrounding nearshore waters. The stronger
cells will produce wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph, reduce visibility in
heavy rain, and possibly a few lightning strikes. A few island
locations may receive one quarter to one half of an inch of rain.

Through 630 pm, thunderstorms developing across the southern mainland
are drifting east and southeast offshore and are moving towards the
Upper Keys and surrounding nearshore waters. Should these showers and
storms maintain themselves, mariners can expect frequent lightning,
heavy downpours with severely reduced visibility, and gusts to 25
knots. Key Largo and Ocean Reef could potentially see 0.50 to 1.0
inches of rain with locally higher amounts.
