Through 730 pm, isolated showers will continue to develop in the distant Straits of Florida around Elbow Cay and south of the Tortugas Ecological Reserve. A line of thunderstorms moving off of Cuba may enter the Straits over the next hour. These showers will move to the northwest at 15 to 20 knots and mariners encountering this activity can expect wind gusts near 25 knots, moderate to heavy rainfall that will reduce visibilities below 3 miles, and possibly a few lightning strikes. $$ NB
