.NOW...
Through 300 pm, a band of showers and embedded thunderstorms
across the offshore Gulf waters, western Straits of Florida, western
Hawk Channel, and the western Gulfside waters appears to have slowed
down once again and seems to look like it is nearly stationary or
moving slowly eastward near 5 knots. The rain continues for the Dry
Tortugas and is expected to do so for the next few hours. This
activity will be capable of moderate to heavy downpours reducing
visibilities, wind gusts to near 30 knots, and frequent cloud to
ground lightning strikes. Also, estimated 6 hourly rainfall amounts
according to MRMS (Multi- radar, Multi Sensor) to the north of the
Dry Tortugas have been 4 to 6 inches in a fairly wide area with
pockets inside this wide area of 6 to 11 inches.
