002 FZUS63 KMQT 200209 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1009 PM EDT Wed Jun 19 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...High pressure of 30.3 inches centered over northern Minnesota will build to 30.4 inches as it shifts east, settling over Lake Superior for Thursday and Thursday night. On Friday, 30.3 inch high pressure ridging will extend from Maine to Lake Superior while 29.7 inch low pressure develops over eastern Colorado. This low will track northeast to northern Wisconsin on Saturday as the high pressure ridge drifts northeast. The low will then deepen to 29.4 inches as it tracks across Upper Michigan and southeast Lake Superior during Saturday night and reaches southern Quebec by Sunday evening. In its wake, 29.9 inch high pressure building into the Northern Plains on Sunday will settle over the western Great Lakes region on Monday.
