768 FZUS63 KMQT 180139 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 939 PM EDT Mon Jun 17 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...Weak ridging of 29.9 inches is over the eastern half of the lake tonight while a 29.2 inch low pressure moves off the Colorado Rockies into the Northern Plains. The low will track across northern Minnesota at 29.5 inches Tuesday, reaching James Bay Wednesday morning as it pulls a 29.7 inch trough over Lake Superior. As the low lifts northeast, high pressure to 30.4 inches builds over Lake Superior for Thursday and Friday. Friday night, the high weakens to 30.2 inches and slides east. Saturday, Lake Superior will be between a high of 30.1 inches over New England and a 29.6 inch low over Minnesota.
