955 FZUS63 KMQT 221348 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 948 AM EDT Sat Jun 22 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 29.8 low pressure will track northeast from southwest Minnesota to near the Straits by Sunday morning as it deepens to near 29.5 inches. Through the day Sunday, the low will continue eastward into Quebec while deepening further to 29.3 inches while 29.8 inch ridging builds into the Upper Great Lakes from the west. The high shifts southeast into the Appalachians on Tuesday while building to 30.0 inches. Monday night, a 29.2 inch low will track east through Manitoba, moving through Ontario into James Bay Tuesday. This will pull a 29.5 inch trough through Lake Superior on Tuesday. 29.9 inch high pressure from the High Plains extends into the Upper Great Lakes on Wednesday.
