...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Lake Superior East of a line from Manitou Island to Marquette MI
  and West of a line from Grand Marais MI to the US/Canadian Border
  Beyond 5NM from shore...
  Lake Superior from Upper Entrance to Portage Canal to Manitou
  Island MI 5NM off shore to the US/Canadian Border...

At 254 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This
thunderstorm was located 14 nm north of Brockway Mountain, or 22 nm
south of The Central Lake Superior Buoy, moving east at 30 knots.

The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
