Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Helene is near 25.5N 85.5W at 11 AM EDT,
and is moving north-northeast at 12 kt. Maximum sustained winds
are 90 kt with gusts to 110 kt, and the minimum central pressure
is 960 mb. Helene will move to 28.8N 84.3W this evening, move
inland and weaken to a tropical storm near 33.9N 84.5W Fri
morning, weaken as an extratropical cyclone near 36.4N 86.6W Fri
evening, 36.5N 87.5W Sat morning, 36.3N 87.6W Sat evening, and
36.2N 87.2W Sun morning. Helene will dissipate early Mon. Winds
and seas related to Helene will prevail across the eastern Gulf
waters through late Fri. Light to gentle winds and slight seas
will prevail across the basin beginning on Sat through early
next week.

.THIS AFTERNOON...HURRICANE CONDITIONS. S winds 75 to 90 kt.
Seas 17 to 27 ft in S to SW swell. Numerous showers and isolated
tstms. Vsby 1 NM or less.
.TONIGHT...HURRICANE CONDITIONS EXPECTED. SW winds 75 to 85 kt,
diminishing to 35 to 40 kt after midnight. Seas 15 to 25 ft in SW
swell, subsiding to 11 to 16 ft in W swell after midnight.
Scattered showers and isolated tstms.
.FRI...TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS POSSIBLE WITH HURRICANE
CONDITIONS ALSO POSSIBLE. SW winds 20 to 25 kt. Seas 8 to 11 ft
in NW swell. Scattered tstms.
.FRI NIGHT...S to SW winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft. Scattered
tstms.
.SAT...S to SW winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft.

.THIS AFTERNOON...TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS EXPECTED. SE to S
winds 30 to 35 kt S of 27N, and SE 30 to 35 kt N of 27N. Seas
5 to 7 ft in SE swell. Scattered showers and isolated tstms.
.TONIGHT...TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS EXPECTED. S winds 30 to
35 kt S of 27N, and SE to S 30 to 40 kt N of 27N. Seas 6 to 9 ft
in S swell. Scattered showers and isolated tstms.
.FRI...S winds 20 to 25 kt S of 27N, and S 25 to 30 kt N of 27N.
