The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Central Oklahoma County in central Oklahoma...
  Southwestern Logan County in central Oklahoma...

* Until 1030 PM CDT.

* At 1002 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles
  northwest of Downtown Edmond, moving southeast at 35 mph.

  THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR EDMOND.

  HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and baseball size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
           considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
           Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Oklahoma City, Edmond, Midwest City, Del City, Guthrie, Choctaw,
  Warr Acres, The Village, Spencer, Nichols Hills, Jones, Nicoma
  Park, Cashion, Valley Brook, Tinker Air Force Base, Forest Park,
  Lake Aluma, Smith Village, Seward, and Navina.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature`s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
